Troy Astorino graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with majors in Physics and Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Economics.

An engineering generalist and data specialist, Troy's work has ranged from analyzing Monte Carlo simulations for SpaceX mission trajectories to creating a web app for crowdsourcing healthcare price transparency data.

After college, he co-founded PicnicHealth, a company that creates training data for precision medicine by providing patients with a useful service. PicnicHealth collects, organizes, and manages medical records for patients.

In 2014, PicnicHealth went through Y Combinator, the same startup program that gave birth to Dropbox, AirBnB, and Reddit. In 2017, PicnicHealth won the grand prize at Google's Machine Learning Startup Competition.
