Joaquin Sy, former Secretary-General of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and past President of Kaisa Para sa Kaunlaran, an organization dedicated to integrating Chinese culture into the wider Filipino community.

Mr. Sy was a director and member of the boards of Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Manila Doctors Hospital, and the Metrobank Group’s two real estate companies in China -- the Asia-Pacific Land Development Corp. based in Shanghai, and the South Pacific Real Estate Corp. based in Nanjing.

He has published 18 books, 3 in English, 2 in Chinese, and the rest in Filipino. He has also translated teaching materials for Hanban and the Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing.

Mr. Sy has won several national literary awards.
